Gita Habit (“we”, “us” or “our”) provides a mobile application and this website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you create an account or contact us, such as your name, email address and sign-in details. When you use the app, we may also process your reading preferences, progress, bookmarks, highlights, notes and other content you choose to save. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message.
We and the services that help operate the app may collect limited technical information needed to keep the service secure and working, such as device and app information, IP address and diagnostic data.
Download-link analytics
When you follow our smart download link, we record the visit time, destination platform (Apple, Android or other), and a limited source label (such as a shared verse). These records do not identify the visitor and do not contain cookies, IP addresses or raw browser details. Invitation links additionally contain an opaque referral code linked to the inviter’s account; this lets us show that inviter aggregate visit counts. If you choose to confirm a referral code in the app, we privately associate your account with the inviter and include your signup in their aggregate count, without showing them your identity. Pending invitation codes are stored locally for up to seven days and can be cleared during setup. Deleting either account removes the referral relationship; deleting an inviter also unlinks their code from stored visit events. Counts may include repeat visits or automated requests and do not confirm app installation. Our hosting providers may separately process technical request information to operate and secure the website.
How we use information
We use information to provide and improve Gita Habit, maintain your account and reading experience, respond to support requests, protect the service and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
How information is shared
We share information only with service providers that help us operate Gita Habit, such as hosting, authentication, data storage and email providers, and only as needed for those services. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect people, rights and the security of Gita Habit.
Your choices
You may update certain account details and preferences in the app. You may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information by emailing contact@gitahabit.com. We may need to retain limited information where required for security, fraud prevention or legal compliance.
Data security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate operational or legal purposes.
Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your Gita Habit account and associated personal data through our account-deletion page. That page explains the request steps, the data we delete, and the limited deletion-request information we may retain temporarily.
Children
Gita Habit is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required in their country. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Gita Habit evolves. If we make changes, we will post the revised policy here and update the effective date.
